Interested in a Zareba puppy?  

The waiting list is often quite far in advance of the litter being born as we are concerned about matching puppies to their future families. Litters are planned and qualified homes are sought well in advance. If you are interested in a puppy, contact us sooner rather than later as we likely have a waiting list already established. 

We require a visit to our house before the puppies are born. This enables you to meet us and the dogs then decide if a Ridgeback is really what you want. It also helps to cement a lifelong relationship between your dog, you and us. 

What goes into our breedings?

We thoroughly screen our Ridgebacks before breeding to help eliminate the inheritance of genetic diseases and submit results to OFA. 

We require that any dog who is considered for breeding meet the following criteria: 

• Complete their AKC Championship
• Complete all required OFA testing: Hips, Elbows, Thyroid and CERF with Normal/Passing results 
• We also test for Degenerative Meylopathy (DM), Early Onset Adult Deafness (EOAD), Shoulders (degenerative joint diseases), Cardiac and Patella
• We may also screen our dogs for Inherited Ventricular Arrhythima (IVA)
• Structural soundness and temperament
• Health testing results can be verified on OFA 

If you are interested in one of our puppies, contact us and attach the questionnaire in an e-mail and send it back to us. This is the first step in the application process as a potential Ridgeback owner. 

We like to hear about your interests and what you're looking for in a puppy. It's a great chance for you to interview us as breeders too. Contact us at any time with questions and come prepared with questions of your own! A Ridgeback will be your best friend and family pet with the right positive training and trust in you.

Occassionally we may have a well adjusted, available young-adult that we have decided won't be part of our breeding program. Please inquire with us if this is also an option you would consider.

We do not ship our dogs.
